Teachers Awareness and Implementation of Child Protection Policy of Juliano C. Brosas Elementary School: Basis for A Project Proposal
Abstract
Every institution has a responsibility to defend the rights of every citizen. It is unknown how many instances of child abuse, child labor, exploitation, and mistreatment affect our students both within and outside of school buildings. This study evaluates the school's understanding and application of its child safety policy. To gather information about respondents' awareness of the Child Protection Policy and the extent to which it is being implemented in the educational institution where they work, the researcher employed a descriptive research design that included quantitative data. 46 members of the school's teaching staff are the study's responders. In the study, total enumeration sampling was used. With this method, which is a deliberate sampling strategy, the researcher chooses to look at the entire population that possesses a particular set of traits. The Survey Questionnaire on Awareness and Implementation of the DepEd Child Protection Policy in Schools, created by Macatimpag (2018), was the tool used by the researcher. However, the researcher employed Microsoft Excel software to evaluate the data. The outcome demonstrated that teachers' understanding of its execution and level of awareness was low, and that it was only implemented. The entirety of the kid protection policy was also put into practice. Finally, when creating plans, programs, and initiatives to develop instructors' capacities and raise teaching standards, the school may consider the highlighted features
